along the nature trail
A nature trail runs next to the Vaihela estate, with plenty to marvel at along the way. Step onto the trail, walk in peace, observe and listen. Spending time in nature calms and relaxes your mind.
In summer, Nordic dark bees live along the nature trail. As you walk the trail, you will see both regular hives and mating hives, where the queen builds a new bee colony for herself. The bees pose no danger to those walking the trail, but near the hives you should stay on the path so that the inhabitants are not disturbed.
Once the first beekept bee species that was successfully wintered in Finland. The species was once at risk of disappearing, until conservation efforts began in the 1980s. The island of Velkuanmaa provides an ideal environment for its mating hives.

by bicycle
Admire the beautiful natural scenery of Velkuanmaa from the saddle of a bicycle. By bike, you can explore the island independently, stop whenever you like, take in the surroundings, and move at your own pace.
Lush forest, open fields, and winding roads offer a pleasant route with plenty of new things to see along the way. The island hides surprises waiting to be discovered. A cycling trip relaxes the mind, whether your pace is leisurely, faster, or a mix of both.
Bicycles and helmets are available for residents and guests to borrow free of charge. Ask the staff about availability.

In a beautiful seaside location, there is a lovely barbecue area with benches and tables. The barbecue area is free for everyone to use.
